First Generation Panel Event

About This Event

Our First-Generation College Celebration event will celebrate the achievements of all first-generation students, staff, faculty and alumni, and is meant to increase awareness of the first-generation college student experience here at FGCU and nationally, and to ensure that first-generation students are connected to campus resources needed to succeed! Our Panel of Pioneers: The First-Gen Experience , will be split into two "sessions" - the first half being FGCU undergraduate students, and the second half being FGCU alumni. They'll discuss their experience being first-generation and answer questions from the audience. The panel is greatly informative for students, but also for staff and faculty who would like to better understand the first-gen experience and use that understanding to deepen their ability to serve those students in their role. This panel is open to anyone to attend, but does require an RSVP, as lunch will be provided and seating is of limited quantity.
